PDF Conversion & Navigation

1. Portable Document Format: Refers to a file format in which formatted documents can be transferred over the Internet. PDF files are readable with Adobe Acrobat Reader, an application which can be downloaded from the Adobe Web site at no charge.

2. A file format created by Adobe, initially to provide a standard form for storing and editing printed publishable documents. Because documents in .pdf format can easily be seen and printed by users on a variety of computer and platform types, they are very common on the World Wide Web. To view files of this type, download the Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free from Adobe's Web site.

Adobe® PDF is a universal file format for document exchange the preserves all the fonts, formatting, colors and graphics of any source document. For many corporate users and individuals, PDF has become the standard format for storage, presentation and distribution.

Axiom (an Adobe® authorized Service Bureau) provides services that provide even grater functionality to PDF files. By creating hyperlinks for table of contents (often referred to as Bookmarks), indexes and URLs - all within one self contained PDF file, navigating even large PDF files is a breeze. Bookmarks allow you to directly view any page within a voluminous report by a simple click of the mouse button!

Axiom is able to provide PDF output in any of the four flavors of Adobe® PDF. Depending upon the application, a particular PDF file version may be more desirable than others.
